Dress Code
A student’s attire is a reflection of their discipline and respect for the art form. Placement and line are also paramount in dance. Our dress code allows our teachers to observe and correct the posture and alignment of our students. We ask that students come dressed prepared to dance in the appropriate dress code. Hair needs to be secured in a slicked back bun for all ballet, pointe and silk classes. If you have longer hair, please place hair in a bun for tumbling. No jewelry, watches, or cellphones. Remember loose or dangling jewelry are a safety hazard and distraction for dancers and are not allowed. Jeans, jean shorts, play clothes, or school clothes are not suitable dance attire as well. For all ballet classes dancers MUST wear a black leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes. If you call ahead, the studio can provide you with a used pair of shoes for a trial class or a NEW pair of ballet and tap shoes from the front desk, if interested.
(Pending age and size).
Classes other than Ballet & Pointe need to have athletic wear, proper coverage, the correct shoes, “rubber sole sneakers” for Hip Hop, and hair pulled back away from face. Please Be sure to wear leggings for silks, since it is possible to get a fabric burn while learning.
These simple rules will not only make your dancing and learning experience unforgettable, they are also necessary so that other students can enjoy their classes.
Dress Code Applies To:
Ballet Classes
Pointe Classes
All additional classes are welcome to wear athletic clothing.
